Harry R Connor Reach the Children Fund

A situation resulting from the COVID 19 pandemic in Zimbabwe, Africa would have been very close to my Dad’s heart.

Funds you give through these next few months will go to help alleviate the severe hunger situation in that country.

Our dear friend in Zimbabwe, Bishop Emmanual Bawa, sent this note when we asked for the prayer needs there: …more than half of the population is starving because of the COVID 19. (Many, many businesses and jobs have been closed by government order, so people are unable to work, i.e. no income) Zimbabwe is on indefinite lockdown. There are 40 COVID 19 cases at this time and 4 deaths. It seems apparent that hunger will kill more people than COVID 19.

Harry Rhyne Connor, the father of Angie Connor Hicks, was celebrated on his 90th birthday in 2019. Harry’s family and friends came and honored him for his lifelong commitment to the quality education of children and adults in both church and secular settings. He developed and implemented innovative national programs to incorporate better ways to help children to learn and teachers to teach in the public school system. Dad passed away on Sept 22, 2019.

While earning his PhD he taught graduate classes in teaching methodology and application of the curriculum. When pressured to abandon his godly principles concerning certain teaching methods, he stood firm even at the expense of career advancement.

Harry taught Sunday School in the United Methodist Church for many years and led many people to Christ. Because of his love of history and geography, the Holy Spirit gave him an international ministry of intercession. He would open a new world atlas book and run his hands over the rivers of Africa, South America, Eurasia, and the Middle East, praying and often weeping for people along those rivers to know Jesus. In May of 2019 he was inducted as a Fellow in the international Institute of Theologians.

“Every time you give to the poor you make a loan to the Lord.  Don’t worry – you’ll be repaid in full for all the good you’ve done.” Prov 19:17 TPT

Mr. Connor is present with the Lord now. With your help, we can continue the ministry that was his passion and legacy by giving to his Reach the Children Fund. Our donations are desperately needed now. Children and families are starving. Every amount helps. For example, $15.00 will buy a 25kg bag of rice.

“ You will lend to many nations and not borrow.” Deut. 28:12 CJB

In July 2019 I was able to take your donations to Zimbabwe for the children. I cannot go personally right now, but we can send your donation right away. Please don’t wait- the Children need food now. May blessings flow to the giver and the receiver! I appreciate you so much.
