Arise and Shine – Your light is far-reaching

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”   2 Corinthians 3:17

As Americans, the words freedom and liberty are woven into our collective identity. We use the words in ministry names, business brands and wear them on our tee shirts.  Even as we are grateful, we also take it for granted, and assume people are walking in freedom.

Paul wrote in II Corinthians 3 that freedom is where the Holy Spirit is.  It goes far beyond any outward condition or circumstance.  We can, “with unveiled faces…reflect the Lord’s glory” to people who walk in bondage. This is a work of the Spirit, and as we yield to him we are “transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” This is the supernatural freedom we preach.

Isaiah prophesied this in chapter 60: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.  See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the people, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.”

There is a light that emanates from you as you walk in the liberty of Christ, that others can sense. Awareness of this will give you confidence to share the Gospel whenever, wherever you feel the prompting of the Holy Spirit.  He has special encounters for us everyday as we walk in his freedom light. Someone needs to be set free and you can lead that one into true liberty.

Your light is far-reaching. Let’s go forward together in his ever-increasing glory.
