Magenta is the “mystery” color that Johann Wolfgang von Goethe named in his book Theory of Colours, published in 1810. He discovered it hidden between red and violet, so both the first and last color, the ‘alpha and the omega’ on the color spectrum. Red represents Earth, and violet, Heaven. The beginning and the end – Heaven and Earth.
